Festival Brewery - History |
||
|
The Festival Brewery is a real family business; the brewery started its life in February 2007 the creation of Andy Forbes. His wife Caron, looks after the accounts, keep’s a close eye on Andy and as with everyone involved like’s good real ale. The kids never miss an opportunity to be down at the brewery and can often be found sweeping up or cleaning casks. Come March it was time to start brewing and after many long days of brewing it was not hard to find a team of volunteer tasters, the conclusion, well Andy had brewed a very inoffensive copper coloured session beer, with a full body giving the impression of a stronger ale. Could the popular brew be replicated? The answer after several more brews was yes. Now a local Cheltenham brewery can offer commercial ale which is priced sensibly so you can sell it, make a respectable margin and the Festival Brewery can continue on its long future. Cheltenham has a rich history of brewing and the name Festival was chosen to for many reasons, it fits nicely with the festival town and with the merriment that the local brewery hopes to create and continue for many years. We hope that through delivering a constant product backed up by the service of a family business we can develop partnerships with specialist real ale pubs and soon we believe it will be the drink of the town. |
